The company Nodle Network, which uses the power of smartphones to create a decentralized network, announced this week that it will be the main sponsor of BlockchaIn Rio. The event takes place in Rio de Janeiro between the 1st and 4th of September. The objective of BlockchaIn Rio is to be a great hub for debates, education and business focused on connecting people and companies with an eye on the present and future of the blockchain market.

About Nodle

As Nodle reported in a statement, its support for BlockchaIN Rio, through the “Apresenta” quota, marks its debut in the Brazilian market. Created in 2017, in the United States, Nodle is interested in the Brazilian market. This is because in the country there is an exponential growth in the use of cryptocurrencies and in the use of smartphones. According to data from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV), there are currently 242 million mobile devices in Brazil for 214 million inhabitants. That is, it is about 1.13 devices per inhabitant, a high rate. “Brazil has one of the most connected populations via smartphones in the world and one of the great growth poles of the crypto ecosystem. During BlockchaIn Rio, we will show that Nodle brings an innovative, simple and secure solution, using your smartphone while doing your day-to-day activities”, said Carolina Mello, Head of Communication at Nodle. The Nodle app is available for all smartphones. By downloading it, users can participate in the Nodle network as a “node”, but without having to provide their personal data. That is, network participants are anonymous.

Connect and earn

Through the “connect and earn” model, users are rewarded for participating in the network by receiving NODL, the network’s native token. According to the developers, the app was created to run in the background. That is, it does not interfere with the user’s experience while using other apps. Today, Nodle claims to have around 474,223 token holders around the world, making it one of the top parachains on the Polkadot (DOT) network. Parachains are blockchains built “on top” of the Polkadot network, which share their security levels and can interact and share information. “It is an honor to have Nodle as host of BlockchaIN Rio, as its proposal for inclusion in the Blockchain universe has everything to do with the festival’s mission. With Nodle any cell phone becomes a ‘node’ and this is more than innovative, it is revolutionary”, said Francisco Carvalho, CEO of BlockchaIn Rio.
