Microsoft Office is the most important office suite today. We use it for practically everything, although when we have to face the pending upload error in Word, the problems begin and the occasional headache. But no need to worry, in this article, we will see how to fix it.
How to Fix Upload Pending Error in Word
Check internet connection
Obviously, if the internet connection is down, no matter what we do, the file won’t load. In this case we will have to check that our internet connection is working properly. The best thing would be to directly restart the modem, we just have to disconnect it from the power, wait 10 seconds and plug it back in.
Check OneDrive server status
In case the internet works without problems, we will have to check if the Microsoft servers are working. For this, we have this official website where we can verify the current status of the service.
Check MS Word file name
Many characters are not allowed in file names in general terms. For example: #, *, /, <, > cannot be used for file names, this is something that happens in Windows, OneDrive and MS Word. Although it may happen that on some occasions one of these can “sneak in”. It would be advisable to verify it and if you find any of these symbols, simply edit the name and that’s it.
OneDrive storage
Obviously, if the OneDrive storage is full, we will not be able to upload more files. This can happen in two cases: the first if we were not aware of being close to the file limit. The second, if our Microsoft Office subscription expired recently. It’s something we need to check.
Update Office
An outdated version of Microsoft Office can cause a host of problems. But there is no need to worry, it is quite simple to solve this problem.
We open Microsoft Word. We go to File > Account. Next, we go to Update Options. We select Update Now. Then we will have to restart Office.
Repair Microsoft Office
In case everything we have tried above fails, we are going to have to repair Microsoft Office as a last method.
We right click on the Start button and choose Settings. Here we will have to go to the Applications tab. In the right panel, we are going to choose Applications and features. We scroll until we find Microsoft 365. In case we are using a local version of Office, we will look for this. We will click on the three points that appear on the right side and we will choose Modify. Here we will have to choose Online Repair. Finally, we will click on Repair.
Obviously, we are going to have to wait for the process to complete and then we are going to restart the system.
