NBP exchange rates on Friday. How much are the Dollar, Pound, Euro, and Franc on September 2, 2022?

On Friday afternoon, the Polish zloty strongly hit against most currencies. The basket of the zloty is strengthening today by as much as 0.12%, and the zloty, despite worse economic results (yesterday’s PMI reading for manufacturing fell to 40.9 points in August this year from 42.1 points recorded a month ago), are rising. Something that was ruled out by the markets a few weeks ago is becoming a reality today. Huge expectations for the MPC hike can be seen even in the market WIBOR rate, which started to rise again after many weeks of stagnation.
The zloty exchange rate against the basket of currencies The euro exchange rate loses 0.20% in the afternoon, setting the daily highs at PLN 4.7211, and the minimums at PLN 4.7028. The euro continues the correction after the August strengthening, breaking below the important support level at PLN 4.72 and reaching the psychological barrier of PLN 4.70. The rate remaining below the above-mentioned support is a signal to deepen the current correction, which is strengthened by expectations of the next week’s MPC meeting. The US dollar is losing 0.85%. The daily highs are at PLN 4.7459 and the minimums at PLN 4.6967. The dollar is clearly retreating, struggling to maintain PLN 4.70. The key will be today the data from the US labor market, which will be released at 2:30 PM (NFP report) and at 4:00 PM US goods orders. The readings may change the picture of the market dramatically, leading to a rebound in the dollar, so watch out for elevated afternoon volatility. The franc is losing 0.73% today. The daily highs are at PLN 4.8348 and the minimums at PLN 4.7922. Frank goes below the psychological level of PLN 4.80, which the bulls are not able to defend. Something surprising is happening as the data from Switzerland strongly influences the market. Until now, the franc, as a currency for difficult times, was rather dependent on global trends and fear in the markets. Now that there has been an unexpected increase in interest rates, the data has started to be relevant. The pound is losing as much as 0.59% today. Daily highs are at the level of PLN 5.4781 and the minimums at PLN 5.4365. The quotations continue to move south almost vertically, reaching the levels from the end of June at PLN 5.44.
