Artists unite to honor David Bowie with NFTs

BOWIE ON THE BLOCKCHAIN ​​brings together nine of today’s top artists who have created their own unique works in the NFTs space, paying tribute to David Bowie and his influence through their artistic and personal identities. The project was led by the David Bowie Estate, Andrew Keller’s art e-commerce We Love the Arts, and the NFT marketplace OpenSea, where the collection will launch next Tuesday, September 13. 100% of The David Bowie Estate’s profits will benefit the humanitarian organization. “David Bowie is an icon and a pioneer in every way, and we are honored to partner with his team to bring his legacy to the web3,” comments Ryan Foutty, VP of Business Development at OpenSea. “This incredible collection brings together some of NFT’s most innovative artists with Bowie artifacts to bring together a new generation of fans on the web3.” Defaced, FEWOCIOUS, Glam Beckett, JAKE, Jonathan Wolfe, Lirona, Nadya Tolokonnikova, Osinachi and JYoung & Sick were the artists selected to participate in the project.

LG launches NFTs marketplace accessible through TV

LG has announced the launch of a new NFT marketplace, called ‘LG Art Lab’, which allows users to “buy, sell and enjoy high quality digital artwork” through TV. The app is currently only available to US users with an LG TV running webOS 5.0 or later. The app can be downloaded from the TV home screen. The app allows users to buy and sell digital works made available through LG releases. The first set will be released on September 22nd, which features a series of NFTs by sculptor Barry X Ball.

FIFA prepares to launch NFTs platform

FIFA is gearing up to launch the “FIFA+ Collect” NFT platform for football-themed digital collectors ahead of the highly anticipated 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Per the announcement, the NFT platform will offer football fans around the world the chance to own, at affordable prices, unique digital collectibles – from the greatest gameplay moments to the most iconic FIFA World Cup and FIFA artwork and images. Women’s World Cup. FIFA Business Director Romy Gai comments: “The fandom is changing and football fans around the world are engaging with the game in new and exciting ways.” This exciting announcement makes FIFA collectibles available to any football fan, democratizing the ability to own a part of the FIFA World Cup.” FIFA+ Collect will be accessible at launch on all mobile and web-enabled platforms, and will initially be offered in three editions in three languages: English, French and Spanish, with plans to add more languages ​​in the future.
