Minecraft prohibits NFTs in-game as it conflicts with guidelines

Mojang Studios, a Microsoft-controlled gaming company, has declared a ban on NFTs along with blockchain products in its popular, decades-old game “Minecraft”. According to a report, the concept of NFTs reflects a model of content scarcity and exclusion, which violates their community guidelines. The company wants to ensure a safe and inclusive experience, avoiding the integration of Minecraft with blockchain-based products in the form of worlds, skins, personal items, or other modifications. Mojang Studios stated on the blog that the NFTs linked to scarcity and exclusion that players gain from activities do not align with Minecraft’s values of creative inclusion and playing together.
