Twitter launches its long-awaited Notes feature

Robert Dean

Twitter Notes are an interesting proposition for those who thought that 280 characters was too little, and that a little more space was needed to expand without resorting to threads. The new section is only available in some territories but will be released for everyone soon, being able to review each of the Notes of each profile from the additional section in your account

It is not exactly the social network that has changed the most since its appearance. And, in fact, those great novelties that many claim are still just a promise. On the other hand, although we had to arm ourselves with patience, Twitter has finally launched its long-awaited Notes feature, to allow us to write long texts. Eventually, this means that we will have a new way to communicate on the platform.

Those responsible for the service themselves have confirmed the start of the Notes test period, a name given to this option, which it will help us write and publish more extensive content.

At the moment, only a small group of users in the United States, Canada, Ghana, and the United Kingdom have the ability to access this feature, although Notes can be read by customers from different parts of the world, and should not be read. spend much more time until others could publish their Notes.

Another way to write on Twitter

Those who live in any of the nations mentioned above, will have this function within the Writing tab, where you can develop your Notes, publish them and, if you wish, see all the notes you have published in the past.

Meanwhile, other people who visit the profiles of those who have written Notes, will be able to notice a specific section. All your long posts will be stored in it, so you can find them in just a second.

In this way, at the end of the day, we will be able to create richly formatted articles and uploaded media. Which, later, can be tweeted or shared with followers and others. Photos, images, videos, GIFs and even other tweets can be included to enrich your lines.

Just like any tweet, you can retweet, send direct messages, like it, etc.

Twitter evolves again, and could compete with blogs

In this updated Twitter, the Notes function makes us enjoy a new communication potential with the rest. We believe that this feature could be especially useful for those users who tend to “spin”, the name by which the series of tweets is known, until now the only alternative to expand at length.

Thanks to this advance, we no longer have to link directly to your WordPress blog posts or the like. and we get an improvement that we did not experience since that step from 140 to 280 characters.

We will see, on the other hand, what happens with the competition that should take place between Twitter and the classic blogs. Paradoxically, one of the microblogging social network’s rivals will be Medium, by Evan Williams, formerly of Twitter. Assuming Twitter additionally adds other features like newsletters, it could also threaten Substack.

Do you think you will take advantage of this new Twitter feature?
